If you haven’t realized it by now, I am finally getting around to finishing Emmy’s space. That’s why I have been posting so many projects from her room lately.
When we first moved into this house we were about two months out from her due date. We were broke from selling our old home (at a loss) so her room had to be done on a very tight budget. Combine that with her coming 3 weeks early and I just never got around to putting the finishing touches on her room.
So the latest project is a lampshade. I know what you are thinking…’wait, didn’t she already do a lampshade!?’ Well, yeah I did. But I wanted to do another one! So back off!
I don’t know which one I like better. I am kind of really liking the girly, industrial feeling of the wrapped wire one but I think I am just so used to the other one…
Here are some before and afters.
Basically I just stripped down the old shade to the wire frame and wrapped scrap strips of fabric around all the exposed wire using hot glue to secure it. Then I tied more strips of fabric across the openings.
Easy peasy.
